Product Overview
The 1-Channel MADI Fiber Optic Extender is a compact and cost-effective solution for extending MADI digital audio signals over long distances. It provides real-time, bidirectional conversion between MADI coaxial and optical fiber signals, allowing up to 64 audio channels to be transmitted over fiber while maintaining high-fidelity signal quality.
The converter features one 75-ohm BNC MADI input and one 75-ohm BNC MADI output, supporting the AES10-2008 standard. It provides transparent, real-time signal conversion without audio compression, making it suitable for professional digital audio transmission applications.
Two fiber versions are available: Single-Mode Dual-Fiber 20 km and Single-Mode Single-Fiber 20 km, both using LC optical connectors. The dual-fiber version uses a 1.25 Gb/s optical interface over two fibers, while the single-fiber version uses a 1.25 Gb/s optical interface over a single fiber.
The system supports bidirectional MADI signal transmission, allowing MADI audio signals to be extended between professional mixing consoles, stage boxes, recording equipment, and other MADI-compatible devices. Its compact size and external 5–18 VDC power input make it suitable for integration into professional audio systems where space and long-distance transmission are important.

Transmission & Connectivity
The MADI Fiber Optic Extender is used in pairs to create a complete long-distance MADI extension system.
A MADI-compatible audio device is connected to the 75-ohm BNC MADI input/output of the local converter. The MADI signal is converted to optical fiber for long-distance transmission. At the remote end, the second converter converts the optical signal back to MADI coaxial for connection to another MADI-compatible audio device.
This provides a compact and cost-effective solution for extending MADI audio signals over distances of up to 20 km using single-mode fiber.
