Product Overview

The FQ-V-SDI-1V1D-T/RL 3G-SDI Fiber Optic Extender is a professional long-distance transmission system designed to transmit one SDI video signal with embedded audio over multimode or single-mode optical fiber.

Supporting SD-SDI, HD-SDI, 3G-SDI, and DVB-ASI, the system automatically detects SD, HD, and 3G-SDI input signals and supports data rates from 270Mbit/s to 3Gbit/s, including the 1080P 3G-SDI format. It complies with SMPTE 424M, SMPTE 292M, SMPTE 259M, and DVB-ASI standards.

The SDI interface provides a loop output for local monitoring or connection to another SDI device while the same signal is transmitted through the optical link. This allows camera operators and production teams to monitor the SDI source locally without interrupting long-distance fiber transmission.

The system also provides 1-channel reverse RS485 control data and 1-channel reverse TALLY, supporting professional camera and broadcast workflows. The TALLY interface uses an active-low signal and can directly drive an LED indicator.

The optical transmission system supports both multimode and single-mode fiber. Single-mode configurations support distances exceeding 10km, with transmission distances of up to 20km available with suitable optical modules and fiber configurations.

Designed for mobile and field production, the unit features a V-Mount Battery Plate together with a wide DC 5–18V power input, providing flexible power options for camera systems, outdoor production, live broadcasting, and other portable applications.

The aluminum alloy housing provides a durable and reliable enclosure for professional video transmission environments.
