Product Overview
The FQ2L-FQ2L 4-Channel Expanded-Beam Hermaphroditic Fiber Optic Cable is a professional multi-channel fiber optic cable assembly designed for live sound, professional audio, broadcast, LED displays, stage production, rental AV, and other demanding applications.
The cable uses OM4 50/125μm multimode fiber with four independent optical channels in a rugged 5mm TPU armored cable. Both ends are equipped with 4-channel expanded-beam hermaphroditic fiber optic connectors, allowing direct male-to-female mating without an additional coupler.
The expanded-beam optical design uses precision spherical lenses to expand and collimate the optical beam before focusing it back into the receiving fiber. The larger optical beam helps reduce sensitivity to dust and contamination, making the cable suitable for repeated deployment in live events, rental systems, outdoor productions, and other field applications.
Standard cable lengths include 100m, 150m, and 200m. Each cable assembly is supplied with a fiber cable reel as standard for convenient transportation, deployment, winding, and storage.

Expanded-Beam Optical Technology
The connector uses an expanded-beam optical structure based on precision spherical lenses.
At the transmitting side, light from the fiber is expanded and collimated through the optical lens. The enlarged optical beam passes across the connector interface and is then focused by the receiving lens into the receiving fiber.
Compared with conventional physical-contact fiber connectors, the larger optical beam is less sensitive to small amounts of dust and contamination. The non-contact optical interface also reduces direct contact between optical components, making the connector suitable for repeated connection and disconnection in demanding field environments.
