Product Overview
The FQ-MOD218 and FQ-MOD277A RS232 Fiber Optic Converters are industrial serial communication converters designed to extend RS-232 data over long distances using fiber optic transmission.
The converters support 1-channel full-duplex RS-232 communication with asynchronous point-to-point transmission at data rates from 0 to 115.2Kbps. RS-232 electrical signals are converted to optical signals for reliable long-distance transmission with strong resistance to electromagnetic interference.
Two DB9 interface configurations are available. The FQ-MOD218 series uses a DB9 female connector, while the FQ-MOD277A series uses a DB9 male connector.
The series supports multimode dual-fiber, single-mode dual-fiber, and single-mode single-fiber configurations, with SC, FC, and ST optical interface options. Transmission distances range from 2km to 20km, depending on the selected fiber configuration.
With a compact 95 × 70 × 25mm enclosure, the converter is suitable for industrial automation, serial device networking, control systems, and long-distance RS-232 communication.
